Freelance SEO Expert – Off-Page SEO & Link Building
Job type: Freelance / Contract
Location: Remote
Hours: Flexible
Rate: £15–£25 per hour
Job description
We are looking for an experienced freelance SEO specialist to help improve the organic search performance of our websites, with a particular focus on off-page SEO and link building.
The role will involve reviewing our existing backlink profile, researching competitors, identifying good link opportunities and carrying out genuine outreach to relevant websites, publishers and industry contacts.
You will be expected to:
* Audit existing backlinks and identify potential issues or opportunities.
* Research competitor backlinks and find realistic opportunities we can pursue.
* Build relevant, high-quality backlinks through manual outreach, guest contributions, editorial opportunities, digital PR and other legitimate methods.
* Contact publishers and website owners and manage outreach and follow-ups.
* Assess potential links based on relevance, real traffic, search visibility and overall website quality rather than relying only on DA/DR scores.
* Monitor lost and newly acquired links.
* Provide straightforward reports showing links acquired, outreach activity, progress and recommended next steps.
* Identify obvious technical or on-page SEO issues that could affect organic performance.
You should have practical experience with tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics or Screaming Frog.
We are not interested in bulk backlink packages, PBNs, link farms, automated spam, low-quality directories or websites created primarily for selling links. Quality and relevance are more important to us than the number of backlinks obtained.
About you
You should have proven experience in off-page SEO and link building, good written English and the ability to carry out your own research and outreach. Experience working with competitive UK or US websites would be useful.
When applying, please include a brief summary of your experience, the SEO tools you use, examples of websites you have worked on and examples of backlinks you have personally obtained.
This is an ongoing freelance opportunity for the right person and may develop into a long-term working relationship.
Right to work
We are unable to provide UK visa sponsorship. Applicants who are based in the UK must already have the legal right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
