Learning Support Assistant - SEND & SEMH
Greater Manchester - Bolton, Bury, Manchester City, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford & Wigan
£12.50 to £14 per hour / £93.75 - £105 per day
Flexible - single day cover through to long term placements, part-time and full-time.
About the role:
Demand for experienced Learning Support Assistants continues to grow as specialist education expands across Greater Manchester. Elevate Beyond is recruiting LSAs for specialist SEMH schools, SEND schools and Alternative Provision settings throughout the region.
Whether you are an experienced LSA looking for flexible work or someone returning to the workforce with transferable skills. Patience, compassion, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships are the qualities specialist schools value most.
Supporting pupils with EHCPs, you will work one to one and with small groups to encourage learning, confidence and emotional wellbeing for young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, communication needs, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
Skills you will develop:
- Behaviour support and positive behaviour strategies
- Autism support and communication techniques
- Trauma-informed and inclusive education approaches
- These skills are increasingly sought after across education, health, and social care
Essential requirments:
- Enhanced DBS with children's barred list (or willingness to obtain one)
- DBS Update Service registration
- Level 2 Safeguarding certificate
- Two professional references
- Right to work in the UK
