About the Role
Educato Limited is recruiting compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Staff to work across a range of primary schools in Rochdale. These roles involve providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals within the classroom environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff to provide consistent, personalised support for pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other learning difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey while becoming part of a supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Support pupils with SEND, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning.
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management using positive strategies.
- Implement EHCP targets and individual support plans.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate observations and contribute to pupil progress.

The Successful Applicant Will
- Have experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a school or care setting.
- Be patient, nurturing, and committed to helping pupils reach their full potential.
- Have experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
- Be confident building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time.
Desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
- Experience working with pupils with EHCPs.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods.
- Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent positive behaviour support training.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
