Job Description
Person Centred Care - Personal Assistant Support Required, 14-16 hours per week.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role will mainly involve working in the individual’s home, providing general support with cleaning, laundry, cooking/preparing meals, personal grooming, support with medication and helping to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment. You may also be required to assist with moving and rearranging items within the home as needed to support day-to-day living and accessibility. You also may be required to assist with attending appointments, social activities, and community engagement.
Respecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times is essential within this role. Being observant is also a crucial part of the role: The individual requiring support can sometimes forget to eat/drink, being able to notice this and then problem solve is a crucial aspect of the role.
We are looking for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills who can build positive working relationships and provide compassionate support. The ideal candidate will be able to work flexibly, adapt to changing needs, and use their initiative when required. You will be working as part of a well-established team of P.As.
The successful candidate will be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, with a professional and respectful approach.
The individual needing support is autistic and has additional conditions that can affect daily living. They present as highly capable and independent; they can sometimes struggle with day-to-day tasks and emotional regulation.
The fundamental part of this role is to promote the independence and wellbeing of the individual and family within the community.
A DBS check will be required for the role; the employer will support with this process.

The individual needing support presents as highly capable and independent but can struggle with day-to-day tasks and emotional regulation.
The individual is dedicated to advocacy work for the neurodiverse community and works for a variety of organisations including the NHS and Social Care. They place enormous value on helping other people feel understood, included, and supported.
The home environment is busy and there are children with additional needs within the home. The individual can experience hoarding tendencies, so structured support and compassionate guidance are important in helping maintain a comfortable and manageable living space while respecting their independence and personal interests. They benefit from gentle encouragement and occasional prompting to help manage tasks before they become overwhelming. There are no pets within the home, however on occasion there may be a family member that visits the property with an assistance dog.
