Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Progression Mentor LBS-007 to join our Social Care team in a non-qualified capacity. This vital role focuses on supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by providing tailored mentorship and guidance to enhance their social, educational, and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable individuals, working collaboratively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each young person receives the individual support they need. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those with SEND, encouraging independence, building confidence, and promoting positive progression pathways. The mentor will play a crucial role in tracking progress, identifying challenges early, and delivering bespoke interventions designed to overcome barriers to learning and participation. Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one mentorship and support to children and young people with SEND to promote personal and educational development.

Collaborate with families, schools, and social care professionals to develop and implement individualized progression plans.

Monitor and record the progress of mentees, reporting regularly to relevant stakeholders.

Assist in identifying potential barriers to learning and development and work proactively to address them.

Deliver targeted interventions and activities that encourage skill-building and independence.

Support young people in developing social skills, self-confidence, and positive behavior.

Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring the voice of the mentee is represented and considered.

Hours Per Week: 36

Start Time: 09:00

End Time: 17:00

Pay Per Hour: £18.85
