Summary

HGV Technician role for an experienced Technician to join a leading fleet maintenance operation, working on a modern mixed fleet of HGVs, refuse collection vehicles and light commercial vehicles. Excellent basic salary, overtime opportunities, ongoing technical training and long-term career development available.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.

Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Salary: £44,075 basic per annum plus overtime

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm, 40 hours per week

HGV Technician Requirements:

- Previous hands-on experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.

- Minimum 1 year's relevant HGV experience preferred.

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

- Experience working on HGVs, refuse vehicles or commercial fleets would be advantageous.

- Good understanding of commercial vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair procedures.

- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a workshop team.

- Full UK driving licence.

- HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

HGV Technician Job role:

- Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs across a mixed fleet of HGVs and LCVs.

- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, suspension and electrical faults.

- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimise vehicle downtime.

- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.

- Carry out repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

- Complete job cards, inspection sheets and vehicle maintenance records accurately.

- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with DVSA and company standards.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

- Keep up to date with the latest commercial vehicle technology and repair techniques.
