Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning through high-quality 1:1 and targeted group support.
In this role, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, adapting learning to meet individual needs
- Deliver small group interventions to develop communication, social, emotional and academic skills
- Support pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, SEMH and other additional needs
- Implement personalised strategies, visual supports and behaviour plans to promote engagement and independence
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support where required
You'll need:
- A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary or specialist setting
- A strong understanding of EHCP targets and how to support pupils in achieving them
- Confidence delivering both 1:1 support and structured small group interventions
- Excellent communication skills, patience and a calm, nurturing approach
