The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B17 area from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism (ASD) and ADHD. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff, you will help pupils access learning, develop positive relationships, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
The school is known for its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child receives the individual support they need to thrive.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASD) and ADHD
* Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs and learning style
* Implement behaviour support strategies and promote emotional regulation
* Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence throughout the school day
* Support communication, social interaction, and positive peer relationships
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver EHCP targets where applicable
* Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the wider school team
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and/or ADHD
* Experience providing 1:1 support within a primary or specialist educational setting
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
* Understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive educational practice
* A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
