THE ROLE

As a Frozen Pond Assistant, you’ll help deliver one of LaplandUK’s most memorable guest experiences by supporting the safe and enjoyable operation of Father Christmas’ Frozen Pond. You’ll welcome guests, assist with ice skating activities, manage skate distribution and help ensure every visitor feels confident and looked after, regardless of their age or ability. You’ll combine friendly customer service with a strong focus on safety, helping families enjoy a magical and memorable experience.

You’ll:

• Welcome guests and create a warm, friendly and magical first impression

• Help ensure guests use the ice rink safely and appropriately

• Support the smooth operation of the Frozen Pond throughout the event day

• Monitor the condition of the ice surface and report any concerns

• Issue and collect skates while ensuring guest belongings are handled appropriately

• Provide guidance and reassurance to guests of all ages and abilities

• Help guests feel confident and comfortable while using the Frozen Pond

• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest queries with a friendly and helpful approach

• Monitor the rink area and respond appropriately to guest needs

• Support VIP and PR guest requests as required by the Golden Experience Manager

• Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment

• Follow LaplandUK safety, costume, appearance and operational standards

• Attend all required paid training sessions

SKILLS NEEDED

• Confident, friendly and comfortable interacting with guests

• Warm, approachable and able to create a positive experience for families

• Calm under pressure and able to handle guest needs professionally

• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable providing guidance and reassurance to guests of different ages and abilities

• Passionate about creating memorable experiences for visitors

• Experienced in hospitality, events, customer service, performance or premium guest environments is desirable

• Able to maintain a strong focus on safety while delivering a fun and engaging guest experience

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age: 18

• Available for the full live event period from 7 November to 24 December 2026

• Available to commit to a minimum of three shifts per week

• Available to attend all required paid training between late October and early November 2026

• Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment

• Able to follow LaplandUK safety, costume, appearance and operational standards

• Comfortable working around an ice-skating environment and supporting guests of different ages and abilities

• Able to remain calm, professional and helpful during busy periods

• Willing to fully embrace the LaplandUK experience and story

APPEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Natural hair colour

• No visible jewellery or piercings while in costume

• No visible tattoos from the collar bone upwards, with further restrictions depending on role requirements

• Natural makeup and nails in line with company guidelines

• Phones and smartwatches must be securely stored in lockers while on shift

• Full appearance guidelines will be provided during onboarding
