The Role
We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants with proven SEN experience to support pupils across a range of Birmingham primary schools. You'll be working in busy, inclusive environments where your ability to stay calm, adapt quickly and build strong relationships will make a real difference.
This role suits TAs who enjoy variety, can step into new settings confidently, and are committed to supporting pupils with additional needs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Where You'll Be Working
You will support schools across:
- Sparkbrook
- Small Heath
- Bordesley Green
- Stechford
- Hodge Hill
- Shard End
- Erdington
- Castle Vale
- Castle Bromwich
These schools range from 1‑form to 2‑form entry, each with strong pastoral teams, clear routines and a warm, community‑focused ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group SEN support
- Assist pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
- Help deliver targeted interventions and structured activities
- Support classroom routines and behaviour expectations
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and pupil needs
- Be available from 6:30am for same‑day bookings
What You Need
- School‑based or transferable SEN experience
- A calm, consistent and patient approach
- Strong behaviour management
- Ability to support pupils across EYFS-KS2
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete a new check
- Reliability, punctuality and flexibility
- Confidence working across multiple Birmingham schools
