Cover People are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs in a specialist primary provision in Manchester. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and can provide consistent support for pupils with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing environment. The school specialises in supporting children who require a highly personalised approach to education, with small class sizes and a strong focus on social, emotional and academic development.
- Provide classroom, small-group and 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
- Use Team Teach strategies to support pupils with behavioural and emotional challenges.
- Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
- Support the delivery of tailored interventions and personalised learning activities.
- Encourage the development of communication, social and independence skills.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress.
- Team Teach trained (essential).
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
