Summary

Ellia helps older people stay comfortable and independent in their own homes, and good housekeeping is a big part of how we do that. A clean, tidy home makes an enormous difference to someone who can no longer manage it themselves, and our clients notice and appreciate every bit of it.

Please read before applying: this is a cleaning and housekeeping job, not a care job. You'll be cleaning homes, doing laundry, decluttering and helping in the garden. You will not be doing personal care, medical or nursing tasks, or sitting and keeping people company.

This is a practical, hands on job. You'll have a small round of regular homes and the time and freedom to do the work properly rather than rushing through it.

The work includes:

Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms thoroughly, including ovens, fridges and tiles

Hoovering, mopping and floor care

Dusting, polishing, skirting boards, windowsills and high surfaces

Changing beds, laundry and ironing

Sorting, tidying and decluttering rooms, cupboards, lofts and garages

Light gardening: weeding, deadheading, sweeping paths, watering and keeping the outside tidy

Practical jobs like bins and putting the shopping away
