Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting both pupils and colleagues?
A friendly and forward-thinking primary school in Greenford is seeking a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning while taking on a more influential role within the school's SEND provision.
You'll work closely with the SENCO to coordinate interventions, share your experience with fellow Teaching Assistants and provide exceptional support to pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
No two days are the same in this rewarding role. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality support that enables children to grow in confidence, develop independence and achieve meaningful progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading targeted interventions for pupils requiring additional academic and emotional support.
- Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support across different year groups.
- Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and other learning differences.
- Helping teachers adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Tracking pupil progress and feeding back to the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.
- Coaching and sharing best practice with other Teaching Assistants.
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating a calm, inclusive learning environment.
- Has substantial experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school.
- Understands how to deliver effective interventions that improve outcomes.
- Is confident using a flexible and child-centred approach.
- Can motivate and encourage pupils with varying learning needs.
- Communicates effectively with teachers, families and external agencies.
- Works well independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
