Waking Night Support Worker

Pay Rate: £14.50–£15.25 per hour
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker looking for flexible agency work? We are currently recruiting experienced Waking Night Support Workers to provide high-quality overnight care and support to adults with a range of support needs in Ystrad Mynach and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected care provider where you can make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of those you support throughout the night while benefiting from the flexibility and variety that agency work offers.
A valid All Wales Manual Handling Passport is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centred overnight support in line with individual care and support plans.
Assist with personal care, continence care, repositioning, and other night-time support needs while maintaining dignity and respect.
Conduct regular welfare and safety checks to ensure individuals remain comfortable and secure throughout the night.
Accurately complete care documentation, incident reports, and handover records.
Offer emotional support and reassurance to individuals who may experience anxiety, distress, or sleep-related difficulties.
Support safe mobility and transfers using approved moving and handling techniques.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment, carrying out light housekeeping duties where required.
Work independently while liaising effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
What We’re Looking For
Valid All Wales Manual Handling Passport – Essential
Minimum 6 months’ UK-based experience within a care or support setting
A caring, empathetic, and professional approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout waking night shifts
Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering exceptional standards of care
Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
