The Role:

Are you organised, confident and passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives?

We are looking for a Children's Care Broker to join Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s All Age Commissioning Team, helping to source safe, appropriate and good-value care packages and placements for children, across the city.

In this varied role, you will gather and analyse information, work closely with social care teams and providers, to identify suitable placement and support options, negotiate with providers regarding costs and services and maintain accurate records and agreements.

You will need strong communication and organisational skills, confidence to challenge where needed, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a busy service.

Key Responsibilities:

· Source and secure appropriate placements or care packages for children and families, ensuring assessed needs are met

· Gather and analyse information from social care teams, residents and providers to identify suitable care options

· Work with providers and care markets to identify available placements, maximise use of in house provision and frameworks,and support best value for money

· Negotiate and challenge where appropriate to secure cost-effective placements or care packages, escalating issues when needed

· Maintain accurate records and agreements, including placement information, care package details, provider data and individual placement agreements
