Summary

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN Support

Camden, North London (commutable from Kentish Town, King's Cross, Islington, Hampstead, Chalk Farm)

£105-£120 per day

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful school-based experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy or Teaching?

Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a motivated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with pupils with additional needs while developing valuable practical experience within education.

About the Role

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, both in class and through targeted interventions

- Work 1:1 and in small groups with children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and SEMH

- Help pupils develop their confidence, communication and social skills

- Deliver teacher-planned interventions to improve literacy, numeracy and emotional regulation

- Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in learning

- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to support pupil progress

Ideal Candidate Profile

- A Psychology degree (or closely related subject)

- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential

- A genuine interest in SEND, child development and inclusive education

- Patient, empathetic and resilient with excellent communication skills

- Committed to a full-time, long-term role from September
