Location: Camden, North West London

Pay: £108.68 - £115 per day

Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term to Permanent

Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)

Commutable from: Islington, Haringey, Westminster, Brent, Barnet, Camden Town, Kentish Town, Hampstead, King's Cross and surrounding North London areas.

Long Term Futures is seeking a motivated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Camden. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to play a key role in helping students achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

Working alongside experienced teachers and the school's SEND department, you will support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence, and overcome barriers that may be affecting their progress.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide in-class support for students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group interventions to reinforce learning and improve attainment.

- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, and mild SEMH.

- Modify classroom activities and resources to ensure all learners can fully participate.

- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral teams to deliver effective support plans.

- Encourage students to become more independent, resilient and engaged in their learning.

- Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.

- Record observations on student progress and communicate updates to teaching staff.

- Promote positive behaviour through consistent encouragement and clear expectations.

- Build strong, professional relationships that help students feel supported and valued.

Essential Candidate Requirements

- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Cover Supervisor, Youth Worker or in a similar support role.

- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is advantageous.

- Good knowledge of SEND and inclusive learning practices.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

- A calm, patient and proactive approach when supporting young people.

- Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing classroom needs.

- A genuine commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
