Long Term Futures is working with an inclusive and highly supportive primary school in Camden to recruit an ambitious graduate who wants to develop first-hand experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This isn't simply a classroom assistant role.

You'll become part of a passionate team committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential, both academically and emotionally.
As a Graduate Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you'll support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them overcome barriers to learning while developing the confidence and independence they need to succeed.
You'll quickly discover that no two days are the same.
One morning you may be delivering a communication intervention with a child who has speech and language needs. Later, you could be supporting a pupil with Autism to access classroom learning or helping another child develop emotional regulation strategies that enable them to participate successfully in lessons.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups throughout the school day
- Working with children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and other additional learning needs
- Delivering structured interventions designed by teachers and SEND professionals
- Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing
- Promoting positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement and relationship-building
- Helping children develop confidence, resilience and independence
- Recording observations and contributing to individual support strategies
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCo and external specialists to provide joined-up support
- Creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and able to succeed
This role would suit a graduate who is genuinely curious about child development and passionate about supporting young people.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
- A genuine interest in SEND, neurodiversity and inclusive education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy and emotional resilience
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- The commitment to work full-time from September
Previous experience with children-whether through schools, tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, volunteering or care-is welcomed but not essential.
Many graduates struggle to gain the meaningful practical experience required before progressing into postgraduate psychology courses or teacher training.
