About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work that has been set. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment, promoting high standards of behaviour, and supporting pupils to achieve their potential throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain on task.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Provide guidance and support to pupils where appropriate, encouraging engagement with learning.
- Record attendance and report any behavioural or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise effectively with teaching staff and the wider school team to ensure continuity of learning.

The Successful Applicant Will
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school, college, sports coaching, youth work, or similar environment.

- Be adaptable, professional, and able to work across different subject areas.
- Be enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to supporting students' learning.
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant.
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Behaviour management or safeguarding training.
- Aspirations to pursue a career in teaching or education.
