Summary

SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside

Contract: Temporary

Full time/Part time: Full time, 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Pay: From £110 per day

Start date: 7th September 2026

Expected end date: 23rd July 2027

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to join one of our fantastic partner schools in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside.

You'll be supporting pupils across both Primary and Secondary settings, working with students who have SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), learning difficulties, and autism. The role requires someone who can build strong relationships, stay calm under pressure, and adapt to different learning environments.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Confident, strong, and able to use their own initiative

- Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs

- Positive, patient, and resilient in challenging situations

- Interested in education, psychology, or child development

- Sports coaches, psychology graduates, or those with relevant experience are encouraged to apply!

Requirements:

- Previous experience working as a SEN TA or supporting children with special educational needs.

- A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

- Relevant qualifications (eg Level 2/3 TA, SEN, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
