Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)?
Educato is recruiting on behalf of specialist SEND schools across Greater Manchester for caring and enthusiastic PMLD Teaching Assistants to join their teams this September.
This is an incredibly rewarding role where you'll support pupils with complex learning needs, physical disabilities, and additional medical or sensory needs, helping them to access education in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
About the Role
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
- Support students with communication, sensory learning, and personalised learning activities.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding where required.
- Use communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or visual aids where appropriate.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver individual learning plans.
- Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every achievement is celebrated.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SEND, or complex needs is desirable.
- Experience with personal care is advantageous.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
