Summary
• The Assistant Pastor (Prayers) is required to lead, coordinate and develop the church’s regular corporate prayer ministry, including intercessory prayer, prayer vigils, fasting programmes, pastoral prayer support and prayer-based spiritual counselling. In accordance with the church’s doctrine, these prayer activities are structured and delivered across different age groups and ministry units. The role is therefore necessary to provide dedicated spiritual oversight, coordinate the various prayer sessions, and ensure that all prayer programmes are conducted consistently in line with the church’s doctrine, values and spiritual directives.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
• A clear Christian faith and a recognised calling to pastoral ministry and prayer leadership.
• Ordination, ministerial commissioning, or formal recognition as a pastor, minister or church leader by a recognised Christian church, denomination or ministry organisation.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a pastoral or ministerial role involving regular prayer leadership, preaching, biblical teaching and pastoral care.
• Demonstrable experience of leading regular congregational prayer meetings, intercessory prayer teams, fasting programmes and prayer-based discipleship.
• Sound knowledge of the Bible, Christian doctrine and pastoral practice.
• Experience of preaching and teaching to congregations of varied ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to provide mature, compassionate and confidential pastoral support.
• Experience of training, mentoring and supervising prayer leaders, volunteers or disciples.
• Strong spoken and written English sufficient to preach, teach, counsel and lead worship in the United Kingdom.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and willingness to comply with the church’s safeguarding policies.
• The spiritual maturity, integrity, communication skills and leadership ability required to serve as an Assistant Pastor in a growing multinational congregation.
