Summary

Senior Placements Officer needed in Birmingham

This is a temporary role and the rate is £22.11ph PAYE

The reference number is: OR108727

The successful candidate will provide confident, day‑to‑day duty management within a fast‑paced placement service, bringing strong experience of children’s placements and home‑finding to support effective decision‑making. They will carry out gatekeeping and initial quality assurance of referrals, allocate work in line with team capacity, and act as a single point of contact for staff seeking guidance during live case discussions.

They will work collaboratively with Social Work colleagues to identify suitable fostering, supported accommodation and residential options, offering calm, solution‑focused support under pressure. Highly organised and resilient, they will be able to multi‑task, prioritise and quickly get up to speed with local systems and processes. While providing essential operational stability over the summer and early autumn period, they will do so without holding any line‑management responsibility, instead ensuring smooth workflow, clear communication and consistent professional oversight.
