Summary

VMC Setter - Wolverhampton

Location: Wolverhampton

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay Rate: £15.00 - £19.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for an experienced VMC Setter on behalf of our manufacturing client based in Wolverhampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, working within a skilled engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating Vertical Machining Centres (VMCs), ensuring components are produced to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting and operating VMC machines to manufacture precision components

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Loading tools, setting offsets, and making machine adjustments

Carrying out quality inspections using appropriate measuring equipment

Identifying and resolving machining issues

Maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, and housekeeping

Essential Skills & Experience:

Previous experience as a VMC Setter within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of CNC machining processes

Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

Experience with tooling, offsets, and machine setups

Competent using inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, and gauges

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
