Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Required
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in St Helens from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a talented HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work within Year 6 during the mornings, providing targeted support and delivering interventions to help pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school. In the afternoons, you will provide PPA cover across the school, delivering planned lessons and ensuring high-quality learning continues in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom each morning.
Deliver small-group interventions and whole-class learning activities.
Provide high-quality PPA cover across the primary age range during the afternoons.
Work closely with teachers to support pupil progress and attainment.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
Support pupils with varying learning needs to enable them to access the curriculum.
Contribute to assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
