SEN Teaching Assistant Required

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in St Helens is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term position supporting pupils within the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) Base. The successful candidate will work closely with children who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual targets in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEN Base.

Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning needs.

Assist in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions.

Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement in learning.

Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals.

Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
