General Driver's Mate - Ad Hoc Shifts Location: Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas Pay Rate: £12.79 - £13.00 per hour Job Type: Ad Hoc / Temporary Shifts: Flexible - based on weekly availability and client requirements The Role The Best Connection are currently looking for reliable and physically fit Driver's Mates to join our team for ad hoc work. This is a flexible role where you will provide us with your availability each week, and we will contact you when suitable shifts become available based on our clients' requirements. You will work alongside a driver, travelling out to customer deliveries and assisting with the loading and unloading of heavy items from the vehicle. This is a physically demanding position, so applicants must be comfortable with heavy lifting and working on their feet. Key Responsibilities Assist the driver with loading and unloading heavy goods. Travel with the driver to various delivery locations. Safely handle and move heavy objects. Assist with deliveries to customers. Contact customers approximately 10 minutes before arrival when required. Communicate professionally with customers on delivery. Complete delivery paperwork with customers when required. Follow all health and safety procedures. Work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team. The Ideal Candidate Reliable and punctual. Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting. Comfortable working outdoors and in different environments. Good communication and customer service skills. Able to work as part of a team. Flexible and available for ad hoc shifts.
