Job Summary Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours. This position is temporary. Nurture, family learning and supporting and engaging families continues to be a key priority for the Council. The Family Learning Assistant will work as part of a school locality. The successful candidate will support schools to deliver key nurture and family learning projects that can bring families into the school community and aim to support parents to engage in their child’s learning, The role will involve raising awareness of support and services available within schools and the local community, as well as becoming a supportive point of contact for children, parents and carers. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of child development including attachment theory, nurture principles and play approaches and have proven experience of working with multi-agency partners. Candidates should be enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
