There is the expectation that the post holder will participate in the delivery of the many teaching programmes we provide to colleagues, as well as supporting our student SLTs on placement. The team actively participate in clinical supervision both formally and informally and there is a regular journal club providing extra opportunities for CPD. 1. To be a specialist speech and language therapist in the field of adult acquired communication / swallowing disorders. 2. To act as an autonomous practitioner with specialist knowledge, skills and experience, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients on the caseload. 3. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of one’s professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards. 4. To plan, deliver and evaluate clinical audit, research activities and in-service training within specialist area. The post will involve work on acute wards in a variety of medical / surgical areas including critical care, radiology and out-patients.
