Job Description We are looking for a practical and customer-focused individual with experience in multi-trade maintenance, first-line fault diagnosis and routine building services activities. The successful candidate will understand the limits of their competence, follow approved safety procedures and work collaboratively with qualified specialists when required. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric, plumbing, mechanical systems and authorised electrical tasks. Diagnose faults, complete minor repairs and safely reinstate equipment. Escalate specialist, statutory or qualified trade work as required. Complete routine PPMs, inspections, adjustments and meter readings. Undertake general fabric repairs and minor plumbing maintenance. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Skills and Experience Basic electrical maintenance awareness for non-complex authorised tasks. Experience in building fabric repairs, plumbing, mechanical maintenance and fault finding. Understanding of safe systems of work, permits, risk assessments and COSHH procedures. Knowledge of competence limits and when to refer work to specialist engineers. Competent using hand tools and portable maintenance equipment. Water hygiene and life-safety check training where required. Strong customer service, record-keeping and teamwork skills. Qualifications Level 2 qualification in a relevant trade, building maintenance, plumbing, mechanical services or similar discipline; or Demonstrable time-served multi-trade maintenance experience. We are looking for a motivated individual to join the occupational therapy team, based on The Lodges ward. This unique role provides acatering service to patients at The Lodges and support patients with developing their skills regarding catering and independent living.The Lodges is a 22-bed ward. The technical instructor team at The Lodges provides a 7-day service where the role caters for up to 10 patients. You must have relevant catering qualification or equivalent experience and application of this in the workplace. You must have awareness of food safety in the workplace. The occupational therapy service is well established and provides a comprehensive range of interventions to promote rehabilitation and mental health recovery. The hospital has excellent facilities for patients and provides a wide range of leisure, sport, craft, vocational and educational opportunities. There is also a large horticulture area which provides great links with the local community. Wathwood Hospital is a purpose-built, 78 bed adult, male, medium secure hospital in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. To support the catering provision on The Lodges for up to 10 patients. This includes menu planning, awareness of allergens and dietary requirements, and food hygiene. The post holder will be supporting patients to develop their catering skills within this environment. To assist occupational therapists to develop, deliver and evaluate a needs-led programme of group and individual activity as part of the occupational therapy programme. The post holder will facilitate purposeful and therapeutic activity within the designated areas in the hospital and the community. Inform the patient of the need to inform the Department as soon as possible if they are unable to attend and escalate cancellations to physiology team. · For patients who did not attend (DNA) follow up with line manager for their decision on future care/arrangements, in accordance service’s DNA policy. · To answer and respond to all telephone queries from the public regarding appointment cancellations and redirect them as necessary. · To retrieve messages from answer phone and emails from patients advising of a cancelled/confirmed appointment. · To monitor cardiac investigations appointment capacity on a daily basis and appoint patients in available slots, ensuring clinic efficiency. · Implement appointment changes and cancellations at the patient’s request, adhering to physiology request, local clinic procedures and follow up this action with a confirmation letter · To arrange and advise patients of rescheduled appointment times if requested. · To fill vacated appointment slots by reviewing clinic wait lists and contacting patients to arrange appointments at short notice, liaising with medical staff and clinic co-ordinators as necessary. · To amend existing clinics and set up new clinics in line with physiology management team and Directorate Policy. · To be responsible for cancelling and reducing clinics as and when directed by Line Manager and physiology management team in line with Directorate Policy. 4. Planning and Organisational Skills · To take the initiative to problem solve and exhaust all possible avenues before approaching the line · Where appointments are made at short notice to ensure that clinic staff informed, and any results required are available. · To arrange interpreting services for patients as and when required by Line Manager. · To organise support services, e.g., interpreters, transport, portering as and when required by Line Manager or when appropriate. · To ensure all clinics are managed effectively, to ensure vacant slots are filled. When cancellations/changes of appointments are made – to ensure that interpreters, transport are changed accordingly, as appropriate. 5.
