Summary

Financial Accountant

Interim Contract to December 2027

Hybrid, 2 days on-site/ 3 days from home

Hays Senior Finance is recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large, complex organisation on a fixed-term contract through to December 2027.This is a broad technical accounting role with responsibility across financial reporting, controls, statutory accounts, audit and process improvement, alongside supporting the continued development of the finance function.

Working as a key member of the finance team, responsibilities will include:

Leading monthly and annual financial reporting

Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting

Acting as a key contact for external audit

Reviewing accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments

Maintaining strong general ledger integrity and financial controls

Providing technical accounting advice, including IFRS

Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls

Supporting finance systems improvements, automation and transformation

Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues

Working with stakeholders across Finance and the wider organisation

We're looking for an experienced, technically strong Financial Accountant who can quickly add value within a busy and changing environment.You will ideally have:

Full ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification

Strong post-qualified financial accounting experience

Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge

Experience supporting statutory accounts and external audit

Strong ERP/systems experience with Oracle Fusion is particularly advantageous

Experience improving processes, controls and reporting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The ability to communicate technical finance matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Package

£55,000 salary equivalent

Fixed-term contract until December 2027

Hybrid working, 2 days per week on-site
