Summary

To carry out welding, fabrication and mechanical maintenance for JJC’s skip hire and waste recycling operations. Keep skips, containers and authorised site equipment safe and serviceable, complete reliable repairs and reduce avoidable breakdowns.

Essential requirements

Essential skills and experience Proven welding and steel fabrication experience, with competence in the welding processes needed for the work. Practical experience repairing or maintaining industrial, agricultural, vehicle or comparable mechanical equipment. A relevant welding, fabrication or engineering qualification, or equivalent demonstrable practical experience. Ability to measure accurately and prepare repairs. Understanding of safe isolation, hot work, welding fumes, abrasive tools and safe lifting. Ability to diagnose faults, recognise the limits of a repair and seek specialist support when needed. Ability to record work clearly and communicate faults, priorities and equipment status.
