Summary

Main purpose of job:

To carry out the following tasks:

1. Harvest

2. Selection

3. De-leafing

4. Twisting & Lowering

5. Clipping

6. End of season cleaning

7. Re-planting as per planting season cycl

Main duties

• Harvest either tomatoes or cucumbers from our glass houses depending on which you are assigned to.

• Crop selection as instructed by Team Leader or Block Manager.

• Remove leaf branches in order to promote a healthy crop.

• Twisting plant stems around twine to promote growth in young plants.

• Clip plants to support during growth when stems are too thick to twist

• Clear glasshouses of all crops at the end of the growing season and prepare for re-planting through a cleaning schedule organised by Operations Team.

• Prepare for new growing season by planting new crops.

Experience and Skills Teamwork skills The ability to carry out physical manual work involving lifting, bending and carrying The ability to understand and follow our health and safety regulations/protocols Comfortable with working at height Comfortable with working in a greenhouse environment
