Summary
Life In Abundance UK (LIA-UK) is a Christian international development charity committed to enabling families and communities across Africa and the Caribbean to move from poverty towards lasting flourishing. Working through local churches and community-based organisations, we support sustainable, locally led transformation.
We are seeking an accomplished and enterprising Partnerships & Fundraising Lead to help develop LIA-UK's fundraising and partnership portfolio during an important period of organisational growth.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will take substantial ownership of three principal areas:
1. Trusts, Foundations & Prospect Research: Identify and qualify funding opportunities, develop compelling grant applications and proposals, manage institutional funding relationships and pursue sustainable restricted and unrestricted income.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Major Relationships: Identify, cultivate and steward relationships with churches, Christian organisations, philanthropists, major donors, businesses and strategic partners, turning prospective opportunities into meaningful, enduring partnerships.
3. CRM, Pipeline & Fundraising Intelligence: Build and actively manage a disciplined fundraising pipeline using Virtuous CRM, producing prospect intelligence, forecasts, reports and strategic recommendations to support fundraising decisions.
This is an active, relationship-led fundraising position. The postholder will be expected to identify, develop, progress and steward opportunities through to funding, renewal and deeper engagement, exercising considerable initiative and professional judgement.
The role may also involve supporting selected international visits, mission engagements and meetings with significant supporters and partners.
Full-time: 35 hours per week.
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Contract: Initial 12-month fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
Location: Home-based, with occasional UK travel and support for international visits and mission trips as required.

Essential requirements
We are seeking an accomplished fundraiser with a demonstrable record of delivery, sound professional judgement and the ability to develop opportunities from initial prospect identification through to successful funding and long-term partnership. The successful candidate will ideally bring around five years' relevant fundraising, partnership-development or income-generation experience. This is a guide to the level of competence sought, rather than an absolute threshold. Candidates with fewer years of experience are encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate strong achievements and the ability to fulfil the role. Relevant experience and skills include: - A successful track record in fundraising, income generation or partnership development, including securing income from trusts and foundations. - Excellent grant-writing, proposal-development and case-for-support skills. - Strong prospect research and qualification capability, including identifying and assessing institutional funding opportunities. - Experience developing relationships with donors, philanthropists, churches, trusts, businesses and strategic partners. - Ability to cultivate new prospects, open doors, build professional networks and progress opportunities towards funding and partnership. - A sophisticated understanding of relationship-led fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship. - Excellent networking, influencing, stakeholder-management and communication skills. - Ability to interpret programme budgets and financial information and translate them into persuasive funding propositions. - Strong analytical, planning, organisational and project-management skills, including managing multiple opportunities and deadlines. - Confidence working independently, exercising initiative and taking ownership of fundraising opportunities with limited supervision. - Competence in Microsoft Office 365 and CRM systems, with the ability to become proficient in Virtuous CRM. - Sound understanding of ethical fundraising, appropriate data management and confidentiality. The successful candidate should be passionate about holistic Christian mission, locally led development and transformation through the local church, and comfortable representing LIA-UK's Christian character. Desirable experience includes working within a Christian charity or mission organisation, established networks within Christian philanthropy, detailed knowledge of UK trusts and foundations, securing substantial or multi-year grants, major donor cultivation, corporate partnerships and experience using Virtuous CRM. LIA-UK considers being a practising Christian an occupational requirement for this position under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, as set out in the approved Job Description.
