Summary

Early Years Educator (Level 3) – Breakfast & After-School Clubs, Wokingham (RG40)

Location: Wokingham, Berkshire (RG40)

Pay: £26,000 – £28,000 per year

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

Start date: ASAP

A Level 3 Early Years Educator is needed in Wokingham to work across breakfast and after-school clubs based in local primary schools, some of which have a nursery. Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted-registered childcare provider that runs wraparound care and holiday camps across Wokingham and Reading, for children from preschool age up to Year 6. Your week is Monday to Friday with no weekends: morning club, a daytime block for planning and admin, then after-school club. Choose between a term-time only contract (salary pro-rated) or an all year round contract that includes holiday camps.

About the Provider

An established, expanding childcare company that runs its clubs on primary school sites (some of which have a nursery) in partnership with the schools, so children are cared for before and after school in a building they already know.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading breakfast club and after-school club sessions at partner primary schools

- Putting together a varied activity plan: sport, team games, arts and crafts, outdoor play and creative challenges

- Following the EYFS with preschool and Reception-age children and supporting the wellbeing and behaviour of every child

- Keeping records, registers, ratios and risk assessments in line with Ofsted requirements

- Talking with parents at drop-off and collection and working alongside school staff

- Running holiday camps during school breaks (all year round contracts)

- Planning and preparing sessions in the daytime hours between clubs

What You'll Need

- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)

- Previous experience with children in a nursery, school, club or childcare setting

- Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

- Confident, friendly communication with children, families and school staff

- Paediatric First Aid (desirable)

- A full UK driving licence and access to a car (preferred, not essential)

This suits an upbeat, caring practitioner who likes leading active, hands-on play and is comfortable moving between school sites.
