Belonging Manager

Want to help people feel valued, included and able to be themselves at work?

Join Mencap as our Belonging Manager and help turn our commitment to equity and inclusion into everyday action.

You’ll work with our Head of Belonging and colleagues across Mencap to deliver programmes that remove barriers and improve people’s experience at work.

What you’ll do

- Manage belonging programmes from initial idea through to delivery, tracking progress, budgets and impact.

- Create accessible workshops, learning materials, toolkits and campaigns.

- Help leaders and managers put inclusion into practice, offering advice and constructive challenge.

- Support teams to deliver their inclusion action plans and overcome barriers.

- Use evidence and colleague feedback to understand what works and make improvements.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have experience managing programmes in equity, diversity, inclusion, culture or organisational development. You’ll know how to turn ideas into clear plans and create engaging learning or resources for different audiences.

You’ll listen to different perspectives, build trust and feel comfortable challenging decisions respectfully. You’ll also bring strong organisational skills and a practical approach to solving problems.

Experience in a charity, social care or public service setting would be helpful, but we welcome relevant experience from other sectors.

Why Mencap?

We have Belonging network groups that meet online and are open to all colleagues. We want to encourage everyone to apply to work at Mencap and we offer a variety of different contract types and working patterns. We’re not looking for specific experience. It is your personality and values that will make you a great colleague. We will train and develop you to succeed in the role you’re applying for.
