Job Advert

Imagine putting your talent for making things happen to work at the heart of Mencap, helping our Chief Executive focus on improving the lives of people with a learning disability. That’s the opportunity this role offers.

We’re looking for a proactive, thoughtful Personal Assistant who takes pride in being the person others can count on. Someone who anticipates what’s needed, brings calm to a busy day and understands how excellent support helps a leader achieve more. Work in the Chief Executive’s Office moves at pace, so you’ll need a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

You’ll work directly with our Chief Executive and closely with the Head of Office, providing trusted support that keeps the day running smoothly and important work moving forward. The people you’ll connect with make this opportunity especially compelling. You can expect to work with colleagues across Mencap, Trustees, external partners and people with a learning disability and their families. You’ll also engage with contacts across the wider sector.

Collaboration and visibility are key parts of the role: you’ll build strong working relationships and be a visible, approachable point of contact for the Chief Executive’s Office.

Above all, you’ll connect with Mencap’s purpose and bring our values to life: passionate, inclusive, brave, positive and kind. You’ll care about making sure people can contribute, feel included and know their voices are valued.

Applications close 08 November with interviews being held in person at Commercial St office on 17 November 2026.
