Summary
Summary
Condor UK designs, supplies and installs commercial canopies for schools, nurseries, councils and businesses. We’re looking for a CAD Technician / Estimator to join our small, friendly team, producing the designs and drawings for our projects and turning them into accurate, competitive quotes.
What you’ll do
CAD design
Create 3D models in SolidWorks and produce full fabrication drawings, working independently
Produce layouts, specifications and general arrangement drawings for canopy projects
Turn site measurements and customer requirements into workable designs
Prepare drawings for manufacturers and installation teams
Estimating
Work out material quantities and take-offs from drawings and specifications
Obtain and compare prices from manufacturers, suppliers and installation subcontractors
Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for customers
Liaise with customers to clarify requirements and follow up quotes
Revise designs and costings to meet customer budgets
General
Join occasional site visits to survey and see projects completed
Essential requirements
Essential Competent in SolidWorks, including 3D modelling, assemblies and drawing production Able to produce accurate fabrication drawings without supervision Good understanding of engineering drawing standards, tolerances and dimensioning Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel Good written and verbal communication skills, with customers, suppliers and the team Able to work on your own initiative and manage your own workload Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset Desirable Estimating or quoting experience, ideally in fabrication, construction or building products Experience of steel or aluminium fabrication or structures A qualification in engineering, product design or a related subject A full, clean, driving licence
