Summary
Looking after a dog while its owner is away is a different skill from walking it, and a different job from the one we advertise for Preston walkers. We want three self-employed dog sitters: one for the city and Ashton, one for Fulwood and the north and one for Penwortham and the south bank.
You would be in the owner's home, following their routine. Feed the dog, give any medication, let it out, take it for a walk, keep it company, and then send the owner a short update, every day. Overnight stays are common around school holidays; midday visits are common all year.
No wage, and no guaranteed work: WoofWalk is an app for booking, not an employer. Your prices are yours, set per visit and per night, and you take only the bookings you want. Owners pay through the app and the money moves to your bank account. Tax, National Insurance and insurance you must cover yourself. There is no Preston sitting price in our research, so we do not suggest a rate.
Taking dogs into your own home is home boarding: that needs a licence from the council first and has its own listing in the app. Looking after a dog in the owner's house needs no licence.
On commission, sign-up is free and the first 14 days carry none. Then 15% applies to each booking. Once five of your own clients have joined through you, that becomes 10% for life, and your own clients pay 10% from day one.
Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with the parts of Preston you can cover and whether overnights suit you.
