Customs Clearance Operator
Department: Imports
Location: Dover, Kent
Salary: £26,000-£33,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30-17:00

What you'll be doing:
- Handling end-to-end import customs clearances accurately and efficiently
- Calculating import duty and VAT with precision
- Preparing, checking and issuing import documentation to ensure compliant clearance
- Managing Road Freight import entries (with occasional Air/Sea import support if required)
- Liaising with customers, carriers, freight partners and HMRC/customs officials to resolve queries, holds and documentation issues
- Supporting internal teams with import customs questions and clearance updates
- Keeping up to date with changing UK import regulations and procedures
- Providing occasional out-of-hours support for urgent import movements when needed
What we're looking for:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (A-C)
- Previous import customs clearance experience
- Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Calm, organised and accurate under pressure with great attention to detail
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting tight deadlines
