Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Carlisle to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality English lessons that promote a love of reading, writing, and literature. The successful candidate will join a committed and supportive department and play a key role in helping students achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging and creative English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
- Preparing students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Providing constructive feedback to support student development
- Contributing to the wider life of the English department and school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English Language and Literature
- Excellent classroom management skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire young people
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student success
