We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Garden Production Supervisor to lead productive horticulture across the Glasshouses, Kitchen & Cutting Garden, nursery and propagation areas at Chatsworth.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the day-to-day supervision and continuous improvement of plant production, supporting the gardens, floristry, retail, and visitor engagement. Working closely with colleagues across the Gardens Department, you will help deliver high standards of cultivation, propagation, plant health, sustainability and team development.
You will bring practical experience in productive horticulture, nursery production, kitchen gardens or protected cropping, alongside the confidence to supervise teams, plan workloads and coordinate resources. You will have strong horticultural knowledge, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a collaborative approach to working across departments.
This role offers the chance to contribute to a significant and varied horticultural operation, combining high-quality plant production with visitor engagement, heritage horticulture, sustainability and future development. Above all, you will be forward-thinking, environmentally responsible, commercially aware and committed to continuous improvement.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days out of 7.
What we’re looking for
- Practical experience in productive horticulture, nursery production, kitchen gardens or protected cropping.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in plant sales, visitor engagement or heritage horticulture would be an advantage.

- Experience supervising, motivating and developing staff, trainees or volunteers.
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across teams and departments.
- A commitment to sustainability, safe working and continuous improvement.
In return
You’ll join a supportive and friendly team within a values-led organisation that genuinely cares about its people.
We offer a range of benefits including a wellbeing calendar of events, an onsite gym and swimming pool, and a Colleague Pass providing free access to Chatsworth for you and your guests, plus discounts across Devonshire Group hotels, shops and restaurants.
