Summary
Role: Polish Technician
Location: Pontypool
Hours: Rotating shifts: 6:00AM - 2:00PM and 2:00PM - 10:00PM
Pay: £30,197.44 per year (£14.52 per hour) + 15% shift allowance once shifts start
Bonus: £1000 on completion of the project, Pro Rata
Immediate start available. We're recruiting experienced Polish Technicians to join a leading manufacturing business in Pontypool. You'll support the paint department, making sure finished products meet the highest quality and aesthetic standards. This is a 6-month project running until December.
The Role:
• Rectify paint defects and imperfections on finished products
• Use machine polishers and hand polish where needed
• Prepare surfaces and remove contaminants such as inclusions and orange peel
• Inspect products against quality and aesthetic standards
• Work closely with the paint department to resolve finish issues
• Complete production and quality paperwork accurately
• Keep your area clean and follow all health and safety procedures
The Requirements:
• Previous experience in polishing, paint rectification, vehicle finishing or a similar manufacturing role
• Experience using machine polishing equipment
• Good knowledge of sanding materials and polishing processes
• Excellent attention to detail, able to spot defects and suggest fixes
• Reliable, with strong timekeeping and attendance
• Positive team player who can work to deadlines
• Able to commute reliably to Pontypool
