Summary

This week a dog owner in Knottingley went looking for a walker and WoofWalk, a UK app where owners book and pay local walkers, had nobody within ten kilometres. We want up to three self-employed walkers for Knottingley, Ferrybridge, Byram and Pontefract, with Pontefract Park, Fairburn Ings and the Aire and Calder towpath for the walks.

It is self-employed, so there is no wage and no guaranteed bookings. You run a walking business of your own through the app and you decide the prices, the days and the area. Owners book you and pay you in the app, and the money arrives in your bank.

Rates are yours to choose. About 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026 priced an hour's solo walk between £12 and £28; £18 sat in the middle. That is market information, not pay.

Charges: joining is free and the first 14 days are commission-free. After that WoofWalk takes 15% of each booking, which falls to 10% for life once five of your own clients have come on board. A client you bring yourself pays 10% from their first booking onwards. Sorting out tax, National Insurance and insurance is your job, not ours.

Tell us your patch, days and price and we will draft a profile for you to approve. If you already walk dogs around the Five Towns, bring your clients and handle bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks in the one app.

Over 18, happy in Yorkshire weather, and ready to meet each owner and dog before you start. Apply through Find a Job and say whether Knottingley, Ferrybridge or Pontefract is your ground.
