Summary

A Barnstaple dog owner asked for a walker this week and WoofWalk had no one nearby to recommend. WoofWalk is a UK app where owners book and pay local walkers, and we would like up to three self-employed walkers covering north Devon's main town: Pilton, Newport, Roundswell and Sticklepath, with Rock Park, the Tarka Trail and Fremington Quay for the walking.

This is not employment. There is no wage and no promise of bookings. You would be running your own small business through the app, deciding your own prices, hours and patch. Owners book you in the app, pay in the app, and the money is paid out to your bank.

Walkers price their own walks. In October 2026 about 200 listings on WoofWalk showed an hour's solo walk at anything from £12 to £28, clustering around £18. Treat that as a guide to the market, not an offer from us.

The money side: free to join; zero commission for the first 14 days; then 15% of each booking, which becomes 10% permanently once five of your own clients have joined. Clients you bring in yourself pay only the 10% from day one. Your tax, National Insurance and insurance stay your own affair.

Give us your area, your days and your price and we will draft your profile for you to sign off. If you walk dogs already, bring your clients across and manage bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks in a single app.

You need to be over 18, untroubled by coastal weather, and prepared to meet each owner and their dog first. Apply through Find a Job and tell us which part of Barnstaple you can cover.
