Summary
Following initial training across both the Building Society and Ferry Lettings sides of the business, this varied role will involve providing frontline services, supervising staff and helping to lead our agency through an exciting period of growth and development.
The successful candidate will play an important role across both sides of the business. On the Building Society side, they will develop a strong knowledge of our products and services, including how to open and administer accounts, process transactions and deal with account changes.
On the Ferry Lettings side, the successful candidate will provide leadership and support to our small, family-run lettings business as we continue through an exciting period of development. We have recently launched a new website and are continuing to refresh and develop the Ferry Lettings brand. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping us take this forward.
An important part of the role will be helping to develop and deliver new campaigns aimed at attracting landlords and growing our property management portfolio. The candidate will also have responsibilities in helping to develop our social media presence, creating engaging content and promoting our properties, services and local presence.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing a high standard of service and wants to make a genuine contribution to the success of the business.
Responsibilities
Provision of building society services and support to customers.
Supervision and management of building society staff members.
Developing a detailed knowledge of building society products, services, account opening, transactions and account administration.
Carrying out management quality checks to ensure high standards of service and compliance.
Holding regular 1-to-1 meetings with staff and supporting their development.
Providing leadership and support to the Ferry Lettings team.
Helping to lead Ferry Lettings through the next stage of its development and brand refresh.
Helping to develop and support campaigns to attract new landlords and grow the lettings portfolio.
Helping to manage and develop the social media presence for Ferry Lettings.
Helping to create engaging content to promote Ferry Lettings, its properties and services.
Assisting with property viewings and inspections during busy periods and staff holidays.
Arranging and coordinating property maintenance through our contractors.
Supporting the lettings team with day-to-day tasks as required.
Identifying opportunities to improve our services, systems and customer experience.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Building society or financial services.
Property management or residential lettings.
Staff supervision or management.
Social media, marketing or business development.
Experience across all of these areas would be advantageous, but is not essential. Candidates with experience in one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply.
We are particularly interested in someone who is confident dealing with customers and colleagues, well organised, approachable, and able to take responsibility and use their initiative.
As part of a small, family-run lettings business, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. We value a positive, supportive and friendly workplace culture, where staff are encouraged to work together, share ideas and take pride in what they do. We are looking for someone who will contribute positively to that environment while also being confident enough to take the lead, make decisions and drive things forward.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and getting involved in different aspects of the business. This is a hands-on management role for someone who wants variety and the opportunity to help shape the future of Ferry Lettings.
Working Hours & Benefits
With some flexibility possible, the role will generally involve working:
Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:15pm
The role provides 20 days' annual holiday, plus English bank holidays.
There is one exception - we work the 31st August and take the 2nd January off.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at an important stage of its development, with responsibility across both Building Society services and the continued growth of Ferry Lettings.
