Summary

Your new role

You will support the Contract Management team with the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reporting, providing high-quality analysis to support effective business decision-making and contract performance. Your responsibilities will include preparing management accounts through to trial balance, completing variance analysis for senior management, posting journals and monthly accruals, and supporting the preparation of monthly client applications for payment. You will work closely with the Commercial team on monthly CVRs to ensure an accurate financial position is understood, alongside managing cash recovery, third-party invoicing and debt management where required. You will also liaise with other contracts regarding intercompany balances and invoicing, take the lead on internal and external audit queries, and contribute to improving processes, controls and efficiencies across the contract.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, with experience supporting or preparing management accounts and working within a busy finance environment. Experience in areas such as accruals, journals, variance analysis, balance sheet or trial balance preparation, cash management and financial reporting would be highly advantageous. You will be confident using Microsoft applications and financial systems, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines. You will also be an excellent written and verbal communicator who is comfortable building effective relationships with finance, commercial and operational stakeholders. Most importantly, you will be collaborative, dependable and focused in your approach, with a willingness to identify efficiencies and contribute positively to the wider team. You will be expected to work x3 days per week at their office in North Birmingham.
