About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate Level 3-qualified rugby coach with a focus on player development to join a dedicated team. Together, we aim to create an inspirational and transformational development environment for the next generation of national and international female rugby players in West Wales.

The PDC Lead will lead an inspiring and transformational development environment for the next generation of national and international female rugby players in West Wales. They will lead and manage the Player Development Centre programmes, planning and delivering services for players from 14-24 in West Wales (EPP, TDG and PDG groups).

The Lead will coach and have direct management for PDG (Performance Development Group - over 18s) and will also oversee, lead, manage and deliver to the TDG (Talent Development Group - 16-18). This group will have 2-3 satellite training centres connected to PDC West.

The scope of the role includes all aspects of player development within the PDC West, with strong engagement with key stakeholders across West Wales being critical to the success of the regional performance ecosystem.

The role is instrumental in driving the PDC's player and personal development philosophy and standards (including integrating educational and professional needs) and in doing so drive forward the WRU strategic objective of ‘developing more and better players for the professional game and for Wales through life enriching experiences’.

The PDC Lead will have an oversight role within the Swansea University Women’s Rugby programme.

The post is based at the Swansea University Sports Park and will work throughout the West Wales region to deliver the PDC objectives. This is an opportunity to join our High-Performance Team and be part of a professional and progressive organisation that will be at the leading edge of sport, health, and fitness in Wales.

This is a truly unique opportunity, and we are seeking a talented, experienced, highly driven, knowledgeable, and inspirational leader to drive the programme forward, lead transformational change and create genuine impact for women’s rugby in Wales.

It is essential that the post holder can work on evenings and weekends and can travel in line with the demands and nature of the role.
