About the role
Are you an experienced CNC Operator / Setter looking for a secure, long-term opportunity? We’re recruiting for a skilled individual to join a busy manufacturing team in Brownhills.
This role is ideal for someone confident in both operating and setting CNC machinery, with a strong understanding of machining processes and a hands-on approach to production.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Setting and operating CNC machines (lathes and/or mills)
Loading and unloading materials and components safely and efficiently
Carrying out tool changes and offsets to maintain production quality
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications
Monitoring machine performance and making basic adjustments where required
Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
Ensuring all parts meet quality standards and tolerances
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Reporting any faults, issues, or non-conformances
Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Operator / Setter / CNC Machinist
Hands-on experience with tool changes and machine setup
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Competent using inspection and measuring tools
Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience with both CNC turning and milling
Knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.)
Engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship
