Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
CNC Lathe Machinist to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
West Bromwich area.
THE JOB:
• Set and operate Star CNC lathes to manufacture components to drawing and job specifications.
• Set tooling, work holding, offsets and machine parameters for different production runs.
• Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring production output meets the build plan and required targets.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and job specifications.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using micrometres, verniers and other measuring equipment.
• Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain component quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor machine performance and identify issues affecting production, quality or cycle times.
• Change tools and make adjustments as required to maintain consistent production.
• Complete production paperwork, quality checks and traceability records.
• Work to company health & safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Assist with setting and operating HAAS and Dugard machining centres where required.
• Support other operators and contribute to maintaining an efficient production area.
ABOUT YOU:
• Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience setting and operating CNC lathes, ideally Star CNC machines.
• Experience setting tooling, offsets, workholding and machine parameters.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Ability to make basic tooling and offset adjustments to maintain component quality.
• Experience working to production targets and build plans.
• Knowledge of HAAS and/or Dugard machining centres would be desirable.
• Good understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.
Hours of Work
Monday - Friday
06:00AM – 14:00PM
Rotating
14:00pm – 22:00pm
Pay Rate
£17 - £20ph dependant on experience.
